[Serious] People who knew murders, rapists, arsonist etc. when they were children, what were they like?

Does 15 years old count? I worked at a restaurant with Gary Zeiger when I was 20 and he was 15. He was a very weird kid; vey secretive and closed-mouthed. He would bring beer to work and stash it behind the restaurant. He didn't hang out with anyone at work or talk about school or friends. I was kinda surprised when I found out he and the crew of teenage punks he hung with would go downtown on weekends and roll drunks for money. At 15. He had a total lack of affect: never smiled, never joked or kidded around like a teen will do. Five years later, in the early '70s, I began hearing bad things about him. One day I stopped at the little store a few blocks from my home. My ex-girlfriend worked there and we were on good terms; I'd buy a six pack of beer once or twice a week and say. That day, I saw Gary's Dodge truck in front of the store and got the weirdest feeling. I ran a restaurant then and carried a lot of cash sometimes and had a .380 auto; I stuck it in my waist and covered it with my shirt and went in the store. Sure enough, there was Gary. I looked at him and looked at my ex at the register; she gave me the oddest look. I looked at Gary: he was looking everywhere except at me. "Hey, Gary! Long time no see." ...mumbling. I turned to my ex: "Hey Sue, are ready yet? We gotta get going if we're going to be on time." She went with: "Not much longer", etc. Gary just slid out the door, leaving a trail of slime behind him. I asked my ex what was going on; she told me Gary had been coming in every day and hitting on her. I told her Do not ever go anywhere with that guy. If he comes in, call the manager; call me; get someone to walk you to your car. I stopped in more often for a while and Gary never came back. A year later Gary was dead, shot execution style, probably by someone working hired by the man whose wife and kid he'd murdered a week before. Zeiger was suspected of about a dozen murders.
