This probably isn't as scary as a lot of these stories to you guys but in the actual situation it was the most terrifying event I've had to date. But I've had a few run ins with scary events. So I was about 14 years old at my house in upstate new york in the woods walking around and just messing around in the woods climbing up trees and all sorts of other things. This was in the middle of summer for the record. It was around 6 oclock and I had no track of time and it was starting to get dark. I was about a 1 hour quad ride away from my house. Which is around a 2 to 2 1/2 walk. I realize its starting to get dark and I decide to break from the woods and start to walk back as quick as possible. I broke from jogging to running to speed walking. It was really scary knowing that I'm more than a mile away from the closest house which is mine. I had absolutely nothing on me at all except my airsoft pistol which is why I went into the woods in the first place to mess around with it. I didn't have a track of the time but it was starting to get dark and it gets darker in the woods quicker. My parents were probably going to come in looking for me soon if I wasn't home. I start to run as hard as I humanly can. In order to get back to my house you need to cross a 25 acre field which isn't that big and then there is another 15 acre field that connects to the house which both fields are separated by a small piece of forest. I can tell I'm getting closer to the house and it is damn near pitch black. I see the field coming up and I think it was like 745 by now after I've been running and jogging the whole way back. I was so scared. I walk out into the field and start walking across it as its already dark out. As I'm right about in the center of the field I hear a distinct sound. Its a coyote howling and I hear them in a few different directions. This was what i was most scared of happening right now. I hear all the coyotes howling and barking and coming in from the woods. I start sprinting as hard as I can and I see a flashlight over by the woods where I'm running towards my house. I see the spotlight on my stepdads truck and it lights up the field I turn around hearing the coyotes growling and closing in on me. I turn around and see 3 coyotes coming towards me I was terrified of coyotes. And I knew my step dad was right ahead of me so I start running to him and I see my two German shepherds run right past me and they attack the coyotes. My one shepherd got pretty badly bitten by a coyote but nothing serious on either of them. My step dad fired off a few gunshots to scare off the coyotes and the dogs were chasing after them but they came back to the truck and we drove back to the house with my two favorite dogs. Hands down the scariest thing I've ever come across. Fuck coyotes
