[Serious] Redditors, who had arranged marriage, was sex awkward initially? How did you break the ice?

It's weird how different societies have completely different idea's about sex, and the importance of sex. I grew up in "not repressed society", but still in society heavy on rituals (you know, dating, chivalry, candles, signals and such).

The first time my not (Not quite GF, but girl I was interested and a good friend) were alone, she asked me if I wanted to kiss her, and few minutes later, if I wanted to have sex with her.

And I was like : Wait, This is allowed? We don't have to go on 3 dates. And I'm not obligated to initiate the first kiss. And we can have sex before I visit 3 castles, slay a dragon and rescue a princess?

I can just ask?
