[Serious] Redditors who were almost murdered, what's your story?

I was sick of my mother's bullshit and escalated the argument by yelling back and slammed my hand against the table. She didn't like that, and decided that the best way to handle this is to try to strangle me and push me around. She was sober, and the argument was about me "not cleaning the bathrooms on time" (while I was working part time and studying full time. She was doing neither for the last 20+ years). Mondays, am I right?

I moved to another country and blocked her everywhere. The only sad part is that my dad doesn't want to divorce her, and that my two underage brothers still live with them. To be fair, she always had major issues with me and my sis, and not as much with my brothers so hopefully nothing like that will ever happen again. Last I've heard she was in therapy, but I think she is the lost cause. I saw her throw a jealousy fit over a DOG, and a gift that was given to my brother. So, yeah, no.
