[SERIOUS] What is the harshest truth you’ve ever learned?

Being kind and pure-hearted isn’t enough to make a better world for you and your loved ones. If you’re going to give to others, give with purpose and be assertive in your dealings with people. There’s a reason they say “Nice guys finish last”. I’m not saying don’t be generous or don’t give the homeless guy by your door a couple of 20 dollar bills, but the world isn’t as simple as “Oh, I’ll give him a 20 and I’ll be rewarded by God or whatever”. The world, unfortunately, doesn’t work like that and karma is not absolute. To be successful, one must balance humility with assertiveness.

TL/DR: Balance is key. Learn how to live in fluid moderation and life becomes that much easier.
