Once over summer vacation, my extended family (wife's 2 sisters and their families) rented a beach house for 2 weeks. In the last week, we took turns watching the kids for an evening so that each couple could enjoy a nice dinner out with some peace.

When it was our turn for a night out, I got back to the house and saw that it was only an hour before our dinner reservation, so I put things away in a rush, and asked my nephew where xxxx (my wife) is...as I was at the beach and didn't have my contacts in my eyes, it was easier to just ask then to just look for her (I really don't see well without contacts). He told me that he thinks that she was using the basement shower (off of the suite where the kids had been sleeping) because a niece was napping in our room, so I quickly ran down to get ready.

When I opened the door to the suite, xxxx was off in the corner with only a towel around her hair, having showered and now putting moisturizer on her face from being in the sun. She sort of paused when I came in, though since we were running late, I told her that I'd be ready in a few, stripped out of my swimsuit, and then hopped in the shower.

Later, at dinner, my wife kept smirking and asking if it looked like she'd gotten enough sun when I saw her in the basement, to which I explained that I really couldn't tell (but would happily check again later). At which point, now completely cracking up, she told me that it wasn't her that had been in the room, but my sister-in-law yyyy. Apparently, without corrected vision, they have enough of a family resemblance to pass for eachother.

Kinda a bummer that the sister got a better look at me than I did a her, but such is life...
