Shadow of Truth, Netflix series with a false confession

I found the series alarming and enlightening. This man's Hebrew was very limited and basic. There were legal problems with his Visa and I suspect his fear this would be discovered added to the already overwhelming feelings experienced when a person is arrested and interrogated.
The original video clips of his interrogation leave no doubt--the police were convinced he was guilty and were determined to obtain a confession. He was never welcomed or accepted by the community, due to his nationality.
My sister-in-law speaks Hebrew and pointed out instances where his response was reworded, yet did not to appear to realize the significance due to his limited Hebrew vocabulary.
Regardless, he was held and interrogated over several days. I suspect his cell-mate (a friend & new confidant AND confidential informant to the police) contributed towards the details in his false confession. It's worth watching, but you cannot have distractions. The subtitles appear at a fast pace. I am afraid the real killer will never be identified and this unfortunate man will die in prison.
