Ladies what's the difference between cute and hot? And what do you prefer?

I have always used "cute" to describe guys I liked, way more than "hot." idk why, to me a hot guy is someone who is physically attractive, but "cute" means I could also feasibly see enjoying being with him, he seems like he'd be cool to hang out with, there's just something appealing about him, partially in his looks but also he just seems like he'd be nice. It doesn't mean babyfaced, at least to me. my husband definitely has a mature look but he's both cute and hot to me.

As an example, this guy is hot but not cute. If he was interested in me I'd probably be intimidated and not be interested, despite the fact that he's clearly very good looking: http://beardpictures.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/beard1.jpg

Ryan Gosling is the perfect example of both cute and hot: http://images.askmen.com/entertainment/special_feature_3800/3814_stubble-5-things-men-should-know-1045618-flash-1045618-flash.jpg

Peeta from Hunger Games is, I suppose, a good example of cute but not hot. Something about him is appealing and attractive, but not particularly sexy. To be clear, if I were single I would still date a guy in this category because I rarely have sexual attraction to someone upon meeting them anyway, and that grows over time for me: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/f4/f2/a5/f4f2a52b88080fa2523f23fbd3dd5074.jpg

Also, obligatory: Probably all the guys I posted are out of my league anyway, I'm just giving examples. I don't want to post real people that I know because that's violating their boundaries. but don't worry, I'm not deluded enough to think I will ever be choosing between these three men. lol
