Shipment just came in!

Heard about Thriftbooks here on Reddit, decided to check it out. Ended up ordering seven books, one of which came in a couple days ago. Very excited to crack them open and get started!

Here's a list of what I ended up ordering:

(not pictured) Brave New World & Brave New World Revisited by Aldous Huxley: read Brave New World in class, and it really struck a chord with me. This is the book the rekindled my passion for reading, and I decided that I really want it on my bookshelf!

I actually lent it to my English teacher because he was the one who introduced the book to me, and I had heard that he wanted to read Brave New World Revisited.

Island by Aldous Huxley: Planned on getting another Huxley book after I read Brave New World as I really enjoyed his writing style. Heard about Island online, and wanted to read his "rebuttle" to Brave New World (and was a little upset after finish BNW that we didn't get any description of the islands outside of dialogue).

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson: Was recommended by a friend, and after I read the plot summary knew it was a book that I'd love. Was originally only planning on getting this before I started my "shopping spree" for books.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller: I've heard about this book here and there, but was really interested after I finished Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse V a year or two ago, and craved some more WWII fiction. Never did end up finding it, and decided to finally pull the trigger after stumbling across it looking for a few books on the website.

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck: Always meant to read it, always heard good things about it. I am a little worried as I already have a basic understanding of the plot and have heard the ending, but still hope that I will enjoy the story.

We by Yevgeny Zamyatin and translated by Mirra Ginsburg: After finishing 1984 a couple years ago, I heard about We on Reddit. My local library didn't have any copies and I just sort of forgot about it until I read Brave New World and became interested in dystopian literature again.

Packing for Mars by Mary Roach: I loved Stiff and did not want to load myself up on too much "classic" (?) fiction. Packing for Mars is sort of the antithesis to the rest of my list, and I am just as excited to read it as I am the rest of my new books!
