#Shitlassian - How Atlassian fired me because my wife had cancer

Not defending Atlassian (don't know the company, think their products suck) but a few things:

  • Anybody who thinks "unlimited" PTO/sick is unlimited is really, really, really naive. Dare I say stupid.

  • If you have a family situation it's NOT PTO/sick usage. You should take a leave of absence.

  • Regarding the child/promotion thing...This is a natural consequence of the work dynamics.

I'm not "pro" company. Companies are businesses trying to squeeze everything out of their employees. There is no loyalty, etc. It's just businesses. But workers who create a website like this sound just like a really bitter employee.

If the company violated labor laws, get a lawyer. But a website like this screams bitter, disgruntled, etc.
