Should we explore trade options for Ty Lawson?

I was thinking about this the other day.

They don't seem to like Terrance Jones either and especially his fit. It was put this way to me - they'd rather start an out of position and younger Clint Capella over him, they just draft a player in Harrel who is in rotation, and DMo is their guy that they wont shut up about being the missing piece to the puzzle (injury).

If we were to give them a legit stretch four in Ilyasova and also Jennings, they might bite. They are the better shooters and what they need to open the court for Howard and Harden to start owning again.

If SVG thinks Jennings is going to be brought back after this year he should not make this trade. If he plans on letting him walk and spend money elsewhere, then trade explorations should be made.

Houston has Beverly, Jason Terry, Harden, and Thornton in guard rotation. Jennings is a great catch and shoot player on top of being a playmaker - if he can't play at a high level, they have other guys who can still play - if Jennings can play, he can play next to all those guards.

Its a high reward trade for us and the thing about it is that both don't have contracts next year. Lawson's can be completely terminated and probably will be to save money - and could bench him. Jones we can decide to keep or let walk in free agency if it doesn't work out well. Jones should be able to play a good portion of his minutes with the bench guys who have a big in Baynes who helps spread the floor as well. Also Jones can play small ball center if we ever go that route (lets say Baynes is injured for a couple games).

We also have Morris who can play some four and Tolliver if we hate his fit - so Im really not worried about it.

At worst its a stealth tank job with a possible sign and trade piece in the offseason. At best we get a healthy six man who breaks out of his slump and a young starting power forward for the future.

One hand I don't want to trade - so we can try and build chemistry and be loyal to our guys I like, but on the other hand building for the future, in position of need and also not relying on currently injured players sounds decent.
