Can someone help me understand the Holmgren hype?

As someone who has been really hot and cold on Chet; at this point in the season, his knocks are more about his weight than questions of what he can do. He shoots an astronomically high percentage at the rim (north of 85% last time I looked), he’s shooting over 40% from three on a good enough volume that we know it’s not fluke shooting. And, his 7’6 wing span allows him to be an immensely disruptive rim protector.

And, compared against the other top prospects, hoping he adds weight is a safer bet than Banchero becoming a great shooter, Smith finding a high level handle and ability to attack the rim, or Ivey fixing him jumper.

So it’s a little bit of him being more accomplished than his peers and that the draft class as a whole is projected as weak, even at the top.
