Why we should have NO pity for the packers.

Let's get this out of the way first, I am a Packers fan. Not a troll. I don't talk shit on the internet about football, and I rarely do in real life unless I'm being berated by a real jackass. I like the rivalry with MN since a lot of my friends are Vikings fans. And I genuinely look forward to you guys getting better because that makes it even more fun. But..

What are your requirements for someone to be a "genuine" fan? The team needs to be bad at the point in time in which you become a fan? I live outside of Wisconsin, but was raised a Green Bay fan since that's where my dad was raised. I don't remember football before Favre, but I also don't know any fans who jumped ship during the 4-12 year, Ray Rhodes era, or when Favre left and Rodgers was still shaky and unproven. We don't "look down" on other fans and if you think we do you're paranoid.

This post just smacks of bitterness. I don't know what you are trying to point out. Yes there are casual fans, you guys have them too. I live in an area now where there are a lot of Vikings fans, hardcore and casual. Some simply don't even understand football, and they are the first to blow up my facebook with "LOL PACKERS SUX", "STILL A GOOD DAY IF GB LOSES AT LEAST WE GET BETTER DRAFT PICKS", and posts about Rodgers' sexuality. I'm obviously not asking for sympathy, we choked. I'm just saying that we're not the only team who has chirpy fans. You just notice it when its in your direction. I got an earful at work for a week when someone found out I was a GB shareholder. Us "shareholders" don't actually believe we have any real ownership or control of the team, its just a unique way our team lets us show support and a cool piece to hang in the man cave.

This got long-winded. I guess what I'm saying is don't let idiots get to you so much. Talk shit all you want. Nobody is a better fan because their team is worse or better.

Oh and I will never forgive you guys for Favre in purple.
