Sidewalks, Cyclists, Pedestrians, and Who Has Right-of-Way

Someone going straight ahead always has the right of way when you're turning into them. Even if the sidewalk doesn't continue. So if in this picture, you're coming from the left or right, turning into the path of the pedestrian (who is walking parallell to you), they always have the right of way. Rechtdoor gaat voor.

If you are both vehicles or bicycles going straight, the person coming from the right has the right of way. This doesn't count for pedestrians, they normally have to wait for vehicles/bicycles coming from the left and right.

So the pedestrian almost always has to wait, with two exceptions. If they are going straight and someone going parallell to them is turning into their lane, and if the sidewalk continues. Then the pedestrian has the right of way
