Burien Residents Form ‘Quiet Skies Coalition’ To Fight Increased Airplane Noise

As someone who fairly recently bought a house in the affected neighborhood I can tell you it is NOT a big deal. The increased flights are somewhat noticeable but they are only the small turboprop aircraft that don't make much noise to begin with since they're the only ones that can make an early enough turn that puts them over our area.

In fact, it seems counterintuitive but where I live is actually just about the least affected neighborhood for airplane noise pollution that I've lived in in the Seattle area. Because we are off to the side of the airport you really don't get any airplanes flying over the house other than the little ones, unlike further north iwhere planes are lining up for the runway all the way up into Edmonds and south where they're all the way down to Puyallup.

The one thing we do have a lot of though is old people in expensive houses who have nothing better to do with their time than complain that they bought a house next to an airport and are surprised that some airplanes are flying overhead.
