Snobbish car salesmen learned you can't judge a book by its cover

This reminds me of a different story.

A woman has one kid and realizes it’s a huge responsibility to undertake by herself. So she decided to not have more kids. She went to her doctor and said she’d like her tubes tied.

The doctor insisted that her husband should be present for this type of decision. She explained how she felt, that it was her body, and she wanted her tubes tied. The doctor wouldn’t change his mind because he said she might change her mind one day.

For petty revenge, I bet you’d think she went to another doctor who agreed without her husband’s consent. But no. All the other doctors she asked said the same thing: no tubes tied unless her husband agreed. Some doctors even said the husband had to provide consent, too.

So she went home and cried. Her husband would never agree to her getting her tubes tied. She had more children because she wasn’t “allowed” to be on birth control. She couldn’t leave because she didn’t see a way to.
