(Socialists only). Why do you think Social Democracy couldn't work in the United States?

Because of history of freedom and lawlessness?

The old settlers were on their own, and i believe in many parts of the country there was to a certain degree some form of lawlessness.

This gave a lot of opportunities, but also a high degree of independancy was required in order to survive. The people could never rely on goverment or anything to help them, so they helped themselves. And it worked and to them it is still working today

When we look at capitalist wealth excess examples, the big cities in coastal states are refered to as an example, yet these are the same places where the leftwing is most popular.

The center states (sometimes refered to as fly-over states) are the states who are least known for capitalism excesses of wealth and are overal rightwing. People in those states are imo more isolated from goverment regulations, but also isolated from social interactions with people of different social backgrounds.

The need to be independent from anything is much higher.

That is why socialism in their minds will not work. Because they feel the goverment wil not help them and only help who ever they feel like helping.
