Years ago, my best friend and I called ourselves jokers. Not because of the Batman Villain, but because it is the best representation of who we are, not some dumb wanna be psycho shit. Not because we thought Violence was cool.(We did kind of talk about blowing up our schools, but thats another story.). We used to play cards a lot, one day I didn't put the deck away and left it in my sister's playhouse. The next time we went to play we found the joker cards torn and left in a pile of pieces. I was irritated but blew it off. We never used those cards anyway, we usually just tossed them to the side. That night I couldn't stop thinking about the torn playing cards. Most of the time they're just tossed to the side. They're usually useless, but when they are used, they can be anything. We both had been through hell and in pieces just like those cards. I ran it by my buddy and he liked it too. We we're both depressed, loser outcast types, but we had hope. We laughed at our suffering and the meaninglessness of it all. We laughed at the world because its all pretty fucking absurd when you think about it. We were gonna be something oneday, so we laughed at the agony of the moment, because we felt like crying. It was a perfect analogy for who we felt we are. Ten years later, He's a fireman with a wife. I'm still figuring things out, I'm kind of a mess with a few pieces still missing, but I'm a great guy, I've got a girlfriend who is a truly great person. I'm my little cousin's best friend and believe me the kid needs one. He has DMD and is stuck in foster care until my mom and I can get him out. We're still jokers to this day.

I hate idiots like this. They don't know what it really means to be a joker. They want to act like they're crazy and edgy, but they don't know what it's like to fall to the ground laughing at the pain of the empty void of depression crushing their heart, or the obsessive suicidal ideation filling their mind so completely they lose the ability to function.
