Some words of advice concerning heavy traffic and when that person stops short to let you through as you wait to turn....

LPT: Don't pull out if you can't see all 3 lanes of traffic stopped. Better yet just wait for everyone to move because there are desperate/ignorant people that ride the yellow lane for 2000 feet before their actual turn.

This one actually happened to me. I was the left turner and I was turning left onto 7th street during rush hour - the suicide lane was in effect, it wasn't a turn lane at the time. Two lanes of traffic let me through, so I turned left into the nearest lane I could, which was the suicide lane going in my direction. Well some dickhole was driving the wrong direction in the suicide lane at full speed so she could cut in front of the backed up traffic to turn left at mcdowell and we hit head on. The worst part was she lied about what lane she was in once the cops got there. The girl who waved me through stuck around to be my witness.

I never ever ever turn left onto 7th ave or 7th street anymore when there's any sort of traffic. And I also avoid situations where I have to turn left and get waved through - I'd rather turn right and turn around later, at a safer point.
