Yeah, that all checks out.

I've had to mostly bail on improv...largely because of the losers in high school becoming cool thing.

While it's true the talent pool in LA, NY, or Chicago is consistently solid, which makes some of the social shit more manageable, other cities have less talent and more bullshit.

I'm in one of those cities.

A ftiend of mine summed it up as "the standups here are talented people who have no right to be so down on themselves, while the improv people are hacks who have no right to feel so good about themselves."

It's cool improv has become this community thing for people to connect and grow their confidence...I just wish their confidence was generated by actually being funny.
