Sooners' Joe Mixon: 'It felt like a dude hit me'

it sounds like everyone involved (Molitor's friend who used a racial slur to Mixon, Mixon who responded with a homophobic slur to him, Moliter who pushed and slapped Mixon, and Mixon who decked Moliter) chose the option of escalating for each step. most, if not all, of the arguments seem to be over the degree of blame, or fault, or responsibility: whether it's Mixon's fault for hitting her, despite getting called a racial slur and getting hit. Mixon shouldn't have hit her even if he was called a slur. whether it's Moliter's fault for calling Mixon over and then hitting him, though she was defending her friend. but she was defending a friend who was using racial slurs. just look at the comments in every single article about this story. all of the arguments are over what percentage of blame should go where. I agree that it shouldn't all be considered Mixon's fault. I agree that it shouldn't all be considered Moliter's fault. I also agree that it shouldn't be equal blame. seriously, everyone is spending hours over arguing exactly over who deserves what percentage of fault. the reality is that every step of the way, everyone involved basically just the worst option possible, and people are arguing over this despite the fact that everyone could spend the rest of our lifetimes arguing this and never coming to a consensus. that's my real point here. all of us are involved in an quite literally an endless argument. that's pretty much the definition of futility.
