(Spoilers Extended) DISCUSSION: Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3: The Queen's Justice In-Depth Post-Episode Discussion

Okay, I want to discuss one little segment of one little scene that I just thought said so much by saying so little: the scene where Jon and Dany are talking and she mentions how she named two of the dragons after her brothers. She then mentions to Jon that he had lost two brothers as well.

Of course, the fact is though that Jon has lost THREE brothers- or so he would believe (as he wouldn't know about Bron). And yet, Jon doesn't speak. He doesn't correct. He stays silent.

This has so many meanings.

For one, there is the strategic reason: he's getting something like what he wants- he isn't getting an alliance, but he is on his way to getting the dragonglass. To go correcting the mother of dragons here wouldn't help him in any way.

But that isn't all. Remember, he was a member of the Night's Watch. He has lost far more than just two or even three brothers. He's seen many "brothers" die, many under his command- some even by his hand (FUCK OLLY).

And then, of course, there is the fact that we know that R + L = J. Those two brothers that Dany lost were Jon's true father and his uncle. And, interestingly enough, Jon has lost two siblings (not brothers, but close enough) when you consider his true parentage in the series: Rhaenys and Little Aegon.

Maybe I'm overthinking a fairly harmless exchange, but it felt like those seemingly innocent moments spoke a lot in what Jon didn't say.
