Star Citizen Squadron 42 cast

I'm not saying this is happening with SC, but I do think its a valid concern.

I don't. We see the progress every week. We saw a huge leak that unveiled over 30 ships that we had never seen before. Those games you mentioned weren't updated even on a yearly basis.

How many just donate as much money as they can, not thinking about the possibility that this game doesn't come to fruition.

Who cares? The people who donate $10,000 to the development of the game make a better game for everyone else. I am happy that some people throw thousands away, that means that I don't have to.

The final issue I have is the fact that they're self published.

Sigh. Stop, just stop.

The Old Republic is currently considered to be the most expensive game ever made clocking in somewhere around $200,000,000 to make.

Over 50% of that was marketing.. Star Citizen doesn't spend money on marketing.

Now I'm all for the democratic use of dollars, but here's the thing: without an independent publisher there is no one who can look at this project objectively and see if it's where it should be.

That's a good thing, not a bad thing. How does a publisher know where a game should be? They are concerned with the bottom line. Developers are concerned with developing. I understand that there is potential for mismanagement, but until there is evidence of this I think it's an asinine point to even try to make.

And the fact is it would be VERY easy for them to do this.

Again, we saw a leak that unveiled over 30 ships. This really isn't a valid point.

Couple of examples

None of those examples are relevant, or even remotely close to relevant.

The situation degraded to the point that LucasArts sent publishers to Free Ratdical to see what was going on and FR literally wouldn't allow them access to the building.

Another really poorly thought out sentence. Backers go into the buildings all the time, over once per week. They report back sometimes. RSI isn't blocking anyone..

SC already has the money it needs to make the game, they also have a ridiculous revenue stream. I think it's absurd to assume that they would fail due to mismanagement with literally no evidence of mismanagement. Please come back with some sources or legitimate points and then maybe you'll actually be taken seriously.
