I started to taper and I am afraid please any advice you can give.

I was on the floor of the bathroom for an entire day and night right when I stopped drinking, and I had to travel across the country the next day, unable to walk 10 feet without drenching myself in sweats and getting dizzy. I literally got to the point where I couldn't even smell a drink without vomiting (after drinking about 1000ml of whiskey or more a day for weeks.) My advice to you is quit your intake completely as soon as possible. Make sure you have xanax, because benzos will help your nervous system when you do go into DTs. Alcohol is only of the only drugs you can actually die from the withdrawals, and the benzos will help you from going into shock or stop any part of your system shutting down from fluctuation in your bp, heart rate etc.

The sooner you stop drinking completely, the sooner you can get past the worst part of this process. In the end, I submitted myself to a rehab facility (where I learned all this.) They immediately got me on a strict regiment of all sorts of anti nausea, nervous system medication and Valium in order to calm my system down to get through the worst of the initial dts. I could barely write due to the shakes, and I sure as hell couldn't even sleep a wink until I had that Valium (which was strictly regulated and I was monitored completely, bp, heart rate etc.)

I would really suggest seeking the same sort of help. HIPA regulations make sharing any of this information with anyone at all illegal, so you should not be worried about any of this showing up on record. Your health should be the number one priority. Trust me, I'm 8 months without a drink now, and after years of fighting it, seeking help was the best thing I ever did. There is absolutely no shame in it. Please feel free to pm me if you want any more info or want to chat about this. It's not easy, that is for sure. But I can definitely tell you, as someone who couldn't go a night without drinking very heavily, it DOES get easier! Just be careful, and do not hesitate to seek help! Your life is more important than your pride!
