Stateless nations of Europe, is your language and culture respected?

Finally a question for me! As a refugee, I am literally stateless.

Respected is not the word I would use. Chechens have made a name for themselves with their agressive behaviour.

So SOME old Austrian people give me a disappointed & disgusted look when I say I'm a Chechen.

But some foreigners like Turks, Afghans, Persians seem to think it's "cool" that Chechens are in the news all the time for assault or gang fights?

The language is a different thing. Our language sounds very unique. People find it intriguing. Sometimes when I speak Chechen with a customer, everyone in the office will stop talking & start listenung to us. Sometimes when I'm in the subway & talking on the phone, strangers ask me what language I was speaking.
