Stop fighting over whether Lost Ark is P2W or F2P. Gold River clearly mentioned it has P2W aspects.

Here is the actual argument. This will encapsulate both sides IMO, and even makes room to include people that you think are or are not being dishonest in the argument.

One side is saying that you cannot or should not have fun in this game unless you are a whale, because there are clear advantages to swiping in this F2P game, and supporting this model is bad.

The other side is saying that you CAN have fun in this game, even if you do not swipe. There are advantages, but you can clear all the content without pushing yourself over the top.

Group two are not lying about the game being not P2W. They are just projecting the message that a game being F2P does not automatically mean that the game cannot be fun without just being predatory.

Group one does not want these kinds of games to exist at all, so there isn't really an argument for them?

So long story short is it will never go away since Group 1 will never go away, as they want these games gone no matter what. Group 2 will not go away as long as they are still having fun.

The very interesting thing though will be to see what happens, since this MMO is apparently one of the few mmo's that has actually grown instead of shrunk instead of the last 3 years.

BTW. I think that people that stick to a main class will probably be fine with minimal to no swiping and will enjoy the game. This game is 100% going to make all of its major long term profits off class balancing and releases.

There is 100% a reason why they did not release all classes, including three of the higher played classes yet, and that they are going to slowly be releasing these classes overtime.

This is going to trigger the FOMO chasers, and these are going to be the true whales of the game. Want that new bright and shiny class, and now you want to negate the last 2 years of progression so you can instantly jump in with your static group? Swipe.

That is their economic model.
