Stuck in corporate limbo because workplace Karen gave my name to the cops

Agree with all this. But, if I were to be pulled over while out riding and asked to consent to a search of my motorcycle, I’d be torn. On the one hand, I know I ought to say ‘no’ on general principle even if I have ‘nothing to hide’.

OTOH, playing the complaint law-abiding citizen makes it more likely that, upon completing their search and finding nothing incriminating, the cops will send me on my way. I’m worried that if I piss them off for the sake of it, they’ll go that extra mile to get a search warrant. Then they’ll find the weed I keep at home and throw the book at me for it.

Also, I kinda want the cops to try to search my bike. I have this top-box which requires a certain technique to open/close. Took me a few weeks to get the hang of it, but I can do it effortlessly now. Every time I’ve given someone a lift and told them to bung their luggage in the top-box (forgetting that there’s a trick to it which they won’t know), I’ve ended up having to stow their luggage for them.

It would be hilarious to watch a cop fumbling around trying to open my top-box. I’d wait ages before offering to help - then I’d get to enjoy the looks on their faces when I open it in 2 seconds with no trouble at all. Watching this will be all the funnier for having played the compliant citizen.
