Student living

I will second this. They tried to scam me back when I lived there. They tried to pull a fast one on me at a renewal time after I had already lived there 3 years with them and I caught them in it. (They told me on multiple phone calls leading up to the time that the price to go month-to-month was x. Day came to sign renewal and they were like "Oh sorry it's actually $x+75, we never told you it was $x" and then I played them a phone recording of them saying it and told them to honor that verbal agreement or I'm moving out immediately.)

They will also put in very odd and frivolous charges when you move out so they can take your deposit. Their charges for me were very so conveniently 18 cents less than the deposit. Including things like a 5 dollar charge to replace a burnt out light bulb. Charging me for the leaking garbage disposal that I had called them in about on a nearly monthly basis since I had moved in there.

They are also simply not cost effective for what you get when compared to other apartments at a "things per dollar" level. I currently live at Briarwood Apartments, which give you a lower per square foot rate. Better maintained buildings and facilites. Friendlier office staff, and better and more appliances for your dollar.

If you do go there, record fucking everything you talk with them on and realize that their maintenence department operates in band-aid mode due to underfunding. (The maintenence guy is really nice and actually wants to fix shit but they don't authorize him to do needed stuff if it's more than sticking duct tape over a leak.)

Another maintenence example. My air conditioner in the closet had a panel that was broken off, I kept having to have them come and tape it back on because they wouldn't let him replace that part of the unit. This also caused my AC bills to be ridiculous because a majority of the air pressure was coming out the back of the utility closet and not where it was actually needed so it was having to run twice as long as needed.
