Why is this sub so boring/toxic?

1) What kind of pictures would you like to see? There's a lot of beautiful scenery in the area, but it some of the more scenic pictures are from St. Charles county, metro east, Jeff co, etc and I've seen people complain about non St. Louis county/city posta before. Also it's a requirement in St. Louis to love the arch and pictures taken of it.

2) Asking questions, even if they can be googled, generate conversation. I never thought about who was the first president to visit. I learned a new fun fact. Also when people ask about car dealerships, computer stores, grocery stores, etc they want reccomendations from others. Sure you can read google reviews, but sometimes they don't exist or they don't go into much detail.

3) We're a red state. I guess mods could do a better job of managing racist comments, but the trolls will always fight back.

The other city subreddits you linked are very similar to ours. If we banned arch pics, general questions, and news articles our subreddit would be dead. Why not start posting your own pictures and conversation starters? Not every subreddit can be an idyllic haven. Be the change that you want.
