Suicide Squad fans petition to shut down Rotten Tomatoes after negative reviews

It is an awful, overdone and over-laden jumble, full of flashbacks and flash forwards and lots of scenes in which it’s unclear which character is doing what or why it might matter.

This latest superhero consortium movie, this one from DC Comics, does something new, but it’s a very bad something new, something that distances the audience from a movie that was always going to be horrible but is now even worse. The movie takes pop songs and plays them loud on the sound track, lyrics included, not just during the interludes between scenes, but actually during the scenes. In other words, at some moments a character will be talking out of one speaker and a song will be coming out of the other.

The experience of “Suicide Squad” is like watching other people play video games — except they’re not really playing them, and there’s not much suspense about who will win. And you can’t escape. And the music is terrible. And you barely know what’s going on. And you’re stuck there for two hours. And then, it’s a little depressing, too, because “Suicide Squad” wasn’t worth making, and it wasn’t worth releasing.

Here are multiple specific things the reviewer did not like about the movie. The section that was included above your post was just the opening of the review, and the blurb that RT included on their page (probably because it was a bombastic and succinct summation of his opinion)
