Only got a few trades this week, but I got a lot of Milestone comics. One step closer to completing my Milestone collection
Milestone Single Issues
Really glad to have these, kind of serves as an ending for a lot of the Milestone characters.
Hardware Issues 1-7, 9-10, 12-16, 19-50
I now own all but one issue of Hardware (#8). Issues 11, 17 and 18 aren't pictured because they're part of the Shadow War and World's Collide Crossovers. I meant to buy issue #8 but somehow forgot to include it in my order(s). Should have it by next week.
Static Issues 1-7, 9-13, 15-44
Thought I was going to have to wait a while on Static, but thanks to a good ebay auction I now own every issue of Static except #45, which I should hopefully have next week as well. Issues 8 and 14 aren't pictured because they're part of the Shadow War and World's Collide crossovers. Also have to mention how much I like most of the covers on this series, a lot of them are very 90's but it's almost always in a surprisingly good way.
Trades/OGN's
Really glad I got this, one of the best comics I've ever read. The only thing I've read before by Scott McCloud is Understanding Comics, and if you've ever read that you know he really know his stuff. Not sure if this is the right terminology, but the "pacing" of the frames in this is some of the best I've ever seen and I don't want to spoil anything, but this book probably has the best use of placing a blank page that I've personally seen.
Deadpool by Posehn & Duggan Volume 1
I've read just about every issue of Deadpool ever, and this run is my favorite. Joe Kelly's run and Cable & Deadpool come kind of close (really want to get the omnibus for those two), but the best moments in this series are way better than anything else I've seen done with the character. Also like that these Marvel hardcovers are bigger than the trades, they seem to match the Marvel Omnibus dimensions. Also not sure if the TPB's of the series did this too, but this has 7 pages of letter collumns in the back that I assume were taken from the original issues, nice extra that I haven't really seen done before. Next volume is coming out in June, really glad they're making these volumes for this series.
The Sixth Gun Deluxe Edition 1
This thing is HUGE! I assumed it was going to be roughly the size of the Marvel Omnibus/DC Deluxe Editions, but it's actually taller than Big Damn Sin City. Here it is with some other trades and a comic for reference. Second one of these is coming out it three weeks, really hoping that they collect the whole run in these things. Also should probably mention how great this series is, it's been going for nearly fifty issues now plus some side miniseries and has remained consistenly great throughout.
Appendix
Also finally got my stuff put on a bookshelf this week, here's the bulk of it and here's the lowest shelf where I'm keeping the big stuff. Have the individual issues on the top shelf for now in case it collapses. Using comic boards as series dividers and a Master Chief helmet as a bookend for the time being, might go fancier at a later date.
