Talk me down, I'm spiraling

"Book two came out this week ..." - you're still in the noise phase.

How many ratings/reviews does a book need to have before you (as a reader) assume the average is a reasonable guide to overall general audience opinion? For me it's around 20-50; whatever the number is for you, ignore your average until you have that many.

You said it beat your expectations financially, so the next month or so will have quite a few more reviews. Be patient, and don't stress out.

Edit: I did some mild cyberstalking before hitting "comment", and the 5 star ratings are already coming in. You have a higher average with book 2 than book 1; I hope you're feeling more steady now.
