Teachers in the center of class warfare

Lol, my dad was a lawyer and actually told friends of mine he'd buy them dinner to not go to law school.

I dug down why he was doing this and his reply is that lawyers are aholes. Talking to my mom — he worked for child welfare and I think he got worn down early out of the gate. Those stories I guess stayed with him and made him lose faith in humanity.

I chose teaching because I had faith in humanity. Despite all of the obstacles, when it's just you and the kids, there's optimism. Even my worst defeats, I've tried to find silver lining. Even with disruptions, there are the moments where we connect.

I'm also a middle school teacher, we're fucking nuts already. I love it.
