Teachers quit their jobs in record numbers during 2018

  1. My standard days are 6-4. I get 20 minutes for lunch.

  2. Who gets Halloween off school? My district also doesn't observe many of the state holidays that give people in the private sector days off.

  3. I spend part or all of my summers either planning for the upcoming year or taking classes/professional development. I'm sure some people can just throw their feet up by the pool, but that's more rare than common.

Simply put, most of your comment is bull. If you're lucky enough to be in a district where you aren't moved around and get to teach just one subject for years at a time, things can go pretty smoothly, other than the complete lack of commitment to discipline at the administrative level.

Crisis teachers do exist and they're very draining on the ones who just show up to do their job, but I'm also really tired of reading "hurrr nine months of the year" comments from people who truly have no insight.
