US Tech billionaire blasts Ireland as not welcoming.

As an Irishman living overseas, I see a grain of truth in some of this guys issues with Ireland. Instead of a knee jerk reaction I would be interested in seeing some other's perspective on this.

As far as Ireland not being welcoming, there is certainly plenty of evidence to indicate as such. One just has to look at the whole debate regarding Direct Provisioning. Ireland was happy to ship millions of its sons and daughters overseas in the past but seems to have a vey short memory when it comes to welcoming others who are poor and destitute.

We are a country that lauds our success and high GDP but we cant even house our own and leave them camped on the streets.

Unless you are a high income, white immigrant to Ireland can seem like a pretty unwelcoming place indeed.
