He murdered one woman in the parking lot, but a heroic usher, 22 year old Robert Engel, saved many lives by rushing the gunman and struggling with him- Engel was pistol whipped, but the gunman shot himself by accident, and Engel retrieve a gun from his car and held the terrorist until police arrived. He was already sentenced to life without parole for the murder, but he's receiving an extra 291 years for the 42 extra counts of attempted murder and civil rights intimidation.
