Tesla & Trump: How fake news is destroying jornalism.

There's nothing newsworthy about the story. Fake news is not simply made up news. Nobody with half a brain would ever get away with running stories that are wholly fabricated. Fake news is the manufacturing of a story where there is no story. In doing so, it is implied that a story needed to be told because there is some intrinsic value to it. Otherwise, they'd just call it trivia and not news. Pretending that the de facto 1-foot rollout method for measuring 0-60 times at a drag strip is news is absurd. This is news to no one. So then, why make it into a story? Oh, because bloggers/journalists get paid by the story/clicks. Trivia presented as a story has implications. It implies someone has been misleading to you. It implies there is some noteworthy information that you are being given that you didn't know because it's a well-kept secret. That's fake news. Running with a story about Teslas being too fast, and therefore unsafe vehicles is fake news. Where were all the news articles about Corvettes being unsafe? Lamborghinis? There is always a basis in reality, that's how its passed off as news. It can't be disavowed as a complete fabrication because there are factual elements being referred to. That's what makes it dangerous and unhelpful.
