Texting back immediately after receiving a text message should be completely normal.

I was the kinda person who'd respond the second I saw the message... so, that'd often be immediately after I received the text. But then people started telling me how it made me seem "desperate" and how I had no life and that pissed me off, because I was gonna have to respond either way, so might as well do it right then, right? Turns out people don't appreciate that and a lot of times the other person wouldn't respond right away when they were the ones who'd sent the text just five seconds ago (they were clearly online). So, well, I was like, fuck etiquette, and now I just zone messages for hours and hours and don't respond unless I really feel like it. They can interpret that how they want to.
