In theory, do you believe it's possible that a person with social anxiety or Avoidant Personality Disorder could be "cured" of their disorders if they were exposed to traumatizing, violent or hardening situations that could cause them to "evolve" from their previous fears?

It's mainly hypothetical.

But here's an unrealistic, but accurate example of what I kind of mean. Imagine if a person has social anxiety, let's say they one day get involved in bad business, let's say drug business or mob stuff, blah blah blah and they live in essentially danger, and they have to see and do things that goes beyond what they thought they could or would do. For a normal person, that would likely evolve them, make them fear less than they did before, give them better instincts and they'd probably care less about menial or small things such that people with social phobia or AvPD worry about.

Mainly the experience hardened, evolved them and caused them to be more practical about life.
