Is there a simpler version of reading piano sheet music similar to tabs for guitar?

I plan to keep going and figure out for myself what happens. Lot of people here seem certain about how you can or can’t learn to do something. Figure it would be most fun to try and prove them wrong.

I do wish that there was more to Synthesia, tho. Some way to visualize all the “how” things you refer to. You can tell me it can’t, but I frankly don’t believe you. The loss of info is a failure of the software - which is a shitty guitar hero knockoff from 2011, you’re right. I want a newer, better version of the game that manages to convey all the same info as sheet music, if in its own way.

I still think the premise of the app is solid and is the right way for me to learn. I’m extremely pleased with my progress about 2.5 months in. If/when the preverbal wall I keep being warned about hits, I will let everyone know. Seriously, I want to see how far this software can take me. That’s almost as interesting to me as learning to play.
