There is a massive disconnect in most relationships specifically because men are taught how to treat a woman as they grow up, but women are not taught how to treat a man.

The man box is real & it’s difficult to get out of. Lots of men struggle with it, and they struggle just the same as women who are also told what they should be. I especially feel very bad for young girls & guys today bc technology has blown things up in a way that I can’t imagine trying to navigate, especially when it comes to societal “norms” in media that are often chosen/portrayed by what will be lucrative content, not by what will benefit society as a whole.

What was inaccurate, and what a lot of ppl reacted to, was that OP said there’s no one/nothing telling women how to be & what to do. It’s quite the opposite, even if you’re not seeing it, like ppl used to in the 50’s all over magazines.
