There seem to be a whole lot of nurse practitioners here

I was upset when I went to a doctor to address an abnormal health issue I was having. They were known to be experts in helping people with similar problems. Instead they booked me with the NP that offered the same basic treatment that every other doctor had that had already not worked for me.

I had told them when I booked the appointment I wanted to meet with the doctor for that reason. Instead I came into the office and wasn't told I'd be meeting a NP until halfway through the appointment when I asked when I'd be seeing the doctor and they told me the doctor wasn't there that day.

I felt Catfished and was extremely upset I wasted time off to go, especially after the NP just recommended the exact same treatment that I specifically said didn't work for me. I agree that a NP can do a lot of basic stuff for patients just as well as the doctor could but if I specify when I book an appointment I only want to see the doctor I booked with I should be able to or at least told in advance that I won't be.
