Thoughts on Factors for flats in Glasgow

I was with Redpath Bruce. They have honestly got to be the worst people I have ever dealt with. Not only do you get the snarky English receptionist who pretends she can't understand your "thick Glaswegian accent" (I had just moved from Falkirk to Glasgow so literally no accent). Then you get to deal with the completely useless person who pretends like they know what they're talking about. Our property manager, if you can call her that, was Fiona, and she was beyond thick. She was also a liar. Our building was built in 2008, and therefore still under warranty. In 2010 everyone's pipes burst because the idiot developer (Premier Burrell) decided the best place for the water pipes to go on a building in scotland would be the external wall. Premier Burrell were called in, promised to run a cable up each pipe that would switch on and act as a radiator once the temperature got to -1. Guess what never happened? But we only found out the next year when the pipes fucking burst again. Then Fiona was so confused because Premier Burrell had assured her it was fixed. She then got back to us with a suggestion - why doesn't she get a contractor in to put a cable up each pipe that would switch on and act as a radiator once the temperature got to -1?! Oh, Premier Burrell was meant to do that least year? I was in the meeting with them? I have a copy of the minutes sent to me detailing my attendance and that that was what as agreed with Premier Burrell? Nope. Can't remember that. Must be that all these people who live in this building, who have the exact same story as one another are lying.

Next, our flat block was on a street that had a pub, a strip club and was poorly lit. For this reason we had a massive gate that locked at the entrance to our building. Oh? The gate's broken you say? Homeless people are able to get in and are making camp in the ground floor? Well since you called on a Thursday we won't be able to get someone out until Tuesday. Oh, someone followed you to your apartment door and tried to force their way in? Well you should have taken the stairs instead of the lift. This is entirely your fault, it's nothing to do with the gate being broken. Are you sure you didn't invite this stranger in?

Fortunately for me I never had any serious consequences, however another girl was also followed to her door. The guy tried to force his way in and was only chased out by her partner. Since this girl's partner worked for a radio company, and emailed Redpath Bruce with his company email, the broken gate was magically fixed because it was now deemed a "serious security issue".

If I move back to Glasgow and buy a flat, the first question will be who is the factor. If the factor is Redpath Bruce I will be walking. There is no way in hell I will be going with them ever again.
