Shelter volunteers going door to door ?

Err you very obviously do have a conflict of interest - that's not an insult, it's a statement of fact.

Sorry but I had a positive image of Shelter specifically before this conversation, but now I'm convinced it's a self-perpetuating grift.

According to it's own website, shelter raised £48.2m in 2021.

According to the impact report, 17,000 households got advice over the phone, 15,000 in person so 32,000 total interactions.

£48.2m / 32,000 = £1,506 cost for each interaction.

Every one of those families would have been better off getting the money. There is no way every single phone call costs £1,500 - the vast majority of the money is spent on fundraising, PR campaigns and research. None of which help a family in crisis as much as cash does.
