Yup! I had an initial consultation with a psychologist that specialises in adult ADHD, and we ran through, essentially, dx criteria. Then we had a discussion about me as a person and my struggles, and she said I did meet the criteria for ADHD so I was referred to a psychiatrist. We had a two hour consultation where he asked me in depth questions, did exercises with me, and diagnosed me with ADHD at the end. He said he thought ADHD was secondary for me and that I was actually most likely autistic, so I was given medication for my ADHD and I booked a special ASD assessment with the same psychiatrist where I had to do more 'tests', and was diagnosed with autism as well.

It was really good actually, he was very knowledgeable about presentation in women and masking and how ADHD and autism cross over a lot. I left with a solid understanding of what my dx meant for me, and I sincerely doubt this person has had that same experience.

It was a long process, lots of questions, lots of tests. Not the sort of thing that could be done in a day over the phone! I've had no referrals to or mentions of a neurologist though, so not sure where they fit in if she's claiming that's where her autism dx came from...
