Today is the one-year anniversary of Georgia Tech's 'Miracle on Techwood Drive'

My wife and I had just moved back to the Atlanta area after living in Florida for a year. We have always had a friendly "house divided," since she's from Tallahassee and a big FSU fan. We always root for each other's team when we're not playing each other and are civil even when our teams square off. We've had a couple of ACC Championship Game match-ups during our time together, and I graciously accepted defeat in both of them.

It was our first night in our new place and we had the game on as we were trying to get things in order with the house, and I had told her that while I always root for GT I would be alright with FSU winning this one because our season had come off the rails already and they were still in the CFP hunt. We were in bed and I was starting to fall asleep, exhausted from the move, and I figured Aguayo was about to make the kick, and even if he didn't the Noles would win it in OT.

When the blocked kick and return for TD happened we both kind of sat there in shock. I didn't say a word, but the Tech fan in me couldn't help but grin just a bit. I said matter of factly, "we kick sixed you," but nothing more. I wasn't going to rub it in.

It didnt matter. She was pissed, and the next thing she said was "I hope Georgia Tech doesn't win another game this season."

GT went 0-4 the rest of the way and missed a bowl game for the first time since 1996. FSU ended up in the Peach Bowl here in Atlanta and we went to the game, but I rooted for Houston because I was still bitter about how she wished death to our season after the Miracle on Techwood Drive and that her wishes completely came to fruition.

TL;DR after the game last year my FSU fan wife wished GT to go winless the rest of the season and it happened.
