Took Adderall for the first time today

I was hoping it would be night and day as far as thought processes goes, but that only slightly changed, I'm just able to steer myself away from the rabbit hole a bit better. I spent a year trying to learn programming but some of the concepts just weren't clicking despite me having an IT background and reading things over and over. Immediately after taking meds the concepts clicked and I was finally retaining info AS I WAS READING for the first time in my life! I wish I had gotten diagnosed earlier but it took 36 years, lost of job and girlfriend and years of substance abuse to finally do it. Nowadays I don't even drink that much, manage my time and money better because I'm less impulsive.
