Living in NYC cost- question

I only make 75k and save about 30% of my net income and still travel and go out to eat frequently. If you’re price conscious and willing to forgo convenience from time to time, you can find groceries, etc for a decent amount. The differentiating factor between struggling and being ok seems to be rent. So that might mean making a sacrifice in terms of not living in the neighborhood you want to. I got priced out of living in the neighborhoods I used to many years ago and now live about a 20-30 minute commute from most things like my gym and cool restaurants and friends. It does kind of suck on one hand but I’m not sure I would pay $3k for a studio even if I could afford it since it feels like straight up robbery.
