Top Sardines in Miso

Top Sardines in Miso are a product of Thailand, imported by JFC International, Los Angeles. I haven't been able to find this brand online, so I don't know if the $1.79 I paid for it at my local Japanese store is typical, but it far surpassed my expectations for this price point. This can contained 8 chunks of fish, surprisingly uniform in size, of firm, clean-tasting flesh with subcutaneous fat and crunchy bones. The texture alone made them a pleasure to eat, but the savory-sweet miso sauce studded with ribbons of ginger was a great complement. According to the label, a can is only 120 calories (90g out of 150g) drained, but why drain, when that tablespoon or so of sauce is so lovely over warm carbs (quinoa)? It does contain MSG, which doesn't bother me, but just fyi for those with sensitivities.
