What you are doing could potentially fuck with people's lives. Think about someone in your command finding out you were doing these things and sharing it on Facebook or putting up your name, rank and station on reddit.

Local cops from my area were very helpful when my child custody matters spilled over onto reddit and Facebook in helping me sort things out. These motherfuckers were the best trolls I could have imagined. Period. I have never seen the local techs abilities to put their skills to use. One guy was not only a local detective, but also dual-badged with the Cyber Crime Task Force under the USMS. He was a fucking trip.

I asked him if he did it in his time off...the trolling, instigating, searching...and he said Nope. He barely picked up a keyboard at home and stuck to playing PS4 with his kids.

I asked why.

He said, the internet has become the asshole of the world. It's a place where people can do real damage and never realize it, never face the consequences and never see the results. Look at your own case. You had the wherewithal to document it and we worked it in to help you, between a child pornography search we had to give to the feds and hunting through the social media of a suicide. The last thing I want to do is go home and fuck with somebody on the internet who might "swat" me or make it impossible for me to do my job, who might be one level up on my skills and reveal what I do and my home address and my family's names and my wife's name and get them hurt.
